President of ICR 2015

Dear Colleagues,

It is of my great honor to invite you to the 31st Iranian Congress of Radiology (ICR-2015) to be held on May 5-8, 2015 in Tehran, Iran.

Following three decades of experience, the 31st annual ICR as the first one in its fourth decade, is scheduled to consist of four main themes including Cardiovascular Imaging, Thoracic Imaging, Emergency Radiology and General & Specific Ultrasonography. Obviously, like previous ICRs, this congress will take a look at other medical imaging issues, as well. These include both new advances and CME programs in Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Women’s Imaging, Genitourinary Radiology, Gastrointestinal Imaging, Oncologic Imaging, Head & Neck Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Imaging Informatics, Imaging Physics and Legal Issues in Radiology.

Cardiovascular imaging and thoracic imaging have witnessed remarkable advancements over the past years, mainly resultant from markedly improved cross sectional imaging (and in particular, CT and MRI), planned to be discussed in details in this congress. Both increased incidence of emergencies and availability of their new therapeutic measures have led to new approaches to their imaging to be discussed here, as well. The most demanding part of this congress is predicted to be the ultrasonographic presentations and workshops.

It will feature highly respected, internationally renowned lecturers who will share, discuss, debate, and dissect significant recent developments and scientific advancements in the field of medical imaging to let participants witness the here and now of radiologic sciences in international scenes.

For the first time, the congress venue was selected to be a new one (Milad Tower International Convention Center), located at Western part of Tehran beside the well-known Tehran Milad Tower.

Included in the program, one will find educational presentations to be delivered by invited expert lecturers from Iran and foreign countries, CME packages, refresher courses, scientific research-based oral and poster presentations, workshops and medical imaging technical exhibition. Moreover, the general assembly of Iranian Society of Radiology (ISR) is scheduled to take place at congress venue.

I’m sure all participants will take full advantages of many opportunities to network with their colleagues, to enhance the educational aspects and to optimize clinical skills during the congress.

I am very much looking forward to expressing my heart-felt and genuine welcome to you to this congress and wish you a wonderful experience.
