Welcome Note for ICR2015
Although Iranian congresses of radiology have been held for 3 decades and our organization has gained significant experience to run a national level meeting with international perspectives, but the first meeting in the 4th decade will have the opportunity to leverage quality of ICR even to higher standards. I am pretty sure the congress team will manage this improvement in an efficient way.
The president of this congress is a leading expert in the field of cardiovascular imaging hence the theme of the congress with be focused on this important subject which bears the potential of a multi-disciplinary approach not limited to radiology profession. Thoracic imaging is a somehow related subject included in the top priority themes of this meeting.
Since the annual meeting of our society is intended to provide refresher training for our practicing members, ultrasonography has been selected as one of the major themes of this meeting to cover educational needs of the majority of ISR members. So not only the basic principles and techniques of ultrasonography will be discussed in detail, but also the advancements of this modality will be highlighted as well.
Emergency radiology is becoming more and more important since the injured or acutely ill patient requires the best accurate diagnosis to be made in as short time as possible. So, the emergency department has its own imaging requirements which should be emphasized for practicing and resident members of radiology community in Iran.
The next meeting will focus on improving workshop management, exhibition info desks, product catalogues, registration guides and interactive sessions as the major executive affairs of the congress. The change in congress venue bears lots of news challenges for the congress team. Although everybody agrees on higher level educational resources in Milad complex, but the new location, access routes, maps as well as exhibition areas will require harder dedicated work.
Prof. Shabestari is well known nationally as a well-organized scientist and I pretty confident he is the best person to put new ICR standards in action. I feel proud of helping him in executive affairs of the meeting in addition to my position in the board of ISR. This will be an exciting experience to overcome a long list of new challenges in congress management.
